Finance Manager

Purpose:

The Swiss Finance Manager has full financial accountability for the CH organization. He/She brings a highly strategic and operational approach to the finance function, which is integral in partnering with the business to drive sustainable growth.

  • Is forward looking and strategic, serving as a thought partner tot he Country Manager and a business partner to the Sales, Marketing, Field Sales, HR and SCM organization in driving value
  • Often wears multiple hats with overseeing additional functions beyond finance like IT, Legal, Contracts, Insurance and Compliance
  • Will have to cut his/her teeth in an environment where the infrastructure in some cases is not yet in place 
Tasks

Accounting and Compliance:

  • Responsible for statutory reporting and working closely together with BLX Financial shared services team (in the Netherlands)
  • Ensure appropriate financial control is in place across the business realizing full compliance
  • Maintaining a relentless focus on cash flow
  • Responsible for month end P&L and DTT reporting vs. Budget and LY with timely completion of month end close activities and reconciliations
  • The continual review and improvement of controls, processes, procedures presented via Annual Finance (department) Plan 

Business Controlling:

  • Lead the Planning Cycle: Forecasting, budgeting and long range planning processes
  • Challenge, influence and provide essential insight and advice to the PVM CH leadership team to support the delivery of strategic objectives, and a range of operational and strategic initiatives
  • Manage the trade conditions in order to achieve planned margins and timely correct where necessary
  • Provide insight in the value chain from consumer RSP, trade conditions and margin to our net sales
  • Implementing IT systems (like SAP GTST) and processes to help the company get to the next stage
  • Ensure investment opportunities are realised and optimized, e.g. trade promo effectivness
Requirements

Accounting

  • Strong academic record in Finance and/or Economy, Business Administration
  • Experience of full year-end-audit preparation and good knowledge of Swiss Tax system
  • High accounting standards, immense drive and ability to achieve significant success
  • Brings in a high level of objectivity and freshness that is helpful in thinking about different ways of operating the business
  • Is a systems head with experience using ERP-Systems, SAP would be an advantage
  • Likes building, managing, motivating and developing high performing Finance teams 

Controlling

  • Has demonstrable track record of consistently delivering significant year-over-year improvements in financial results
  • Enjoys the natural ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment and is at ease with proposing, justifying, initiating and implementing change
  • Strong emotional intelligence; have the ability to interact with all employees in line with PVM’s strong cohesive culture
  • Is passionate about the business and is proactive in seeking opportunities to improve performance
  • Can do mentality, pragmatic and result oriented 

General

  • Business fluent in English
  • Good German language skills are nice to have
  • Experience within a large FMCG or retail business or trading company
