Senior Design Engineer For Direct Air Capture

The setup:

You will be joining the product team, which consists of approximately 17 team members, all working and collaborating on current and future generation Collector Containers. In this role, we are truly looking for someone who can bring in his long-term proven experience in the design of mechanical components within the industrial equipment engineering. In addition, as a Designer, you plan, drive, and iterate with the interfaces (component owners). The challenge you are facing is designing a collector container which is robust and transportable. Finally, the team will benefit from experience in project execution – meaning going from design to serialization.

Your tasks and duties:

  • You join the dynamic design team and contribute to the development of next-generation Direct Air Capturing Products. 
  • You provide innovative engineering solutions and develop components from concept level to serial production. 
  • You collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to the successful execution of design projects. 
  • You create and optimize product designs, utilizing CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to create 3D parts, component assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings. 
  • You provide and maintain accurate design documentation, including drawings, specifications and bills of materials, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. 
  • You support the fabrication and testing of prototypes and conduct basic tests and experiments to validate design concepts and troubleshoot issues. 
  • You present in design reviews and participate in quality assurance processes and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis to ensure the continuous improvement of the product.

Your profile:

  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 
  • You profound understanding of engineering principles and development processes. 
  • You bring at least 10+ years of proven experience in the design of mechanical components within industrial equipment engineering. 
  • You have experience in material selection, design for manufacturing and the application of rules and regulations e.g. machinery directive. 
  • Your proven knowledge about manufacturing processes for metal and sheet metal processing e.g. bending, welding, bolting, milling, casting etc. 
  • You are a proficient CAD software user with experience designing mechanical parts and creating technical drawings. Familiarity with the principle of geometric tolerancing. 
  • You possess effective communication skills and willingness to guide younger engineers. 
  • You have strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • You have enthusiasm for problem-solving and creative thinking. 
  • You have the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. 
  • You are eager to further develop technical skills and advance your engineering career. 
  • You are fluent in business English.
